The valley
In the heart of the Alps
The municipality of Saint Martin de Belleville is the third in the national ranking of income taxes, it is located just behind Paris and Cannes. In addition, thanks to its 3 ski resorts, this town is one of the richest in France. In 40 years, this peaceful Alpine valley has become the world's leading winter sports destination with 800,000 visitors during the winter season, or 3,747,800 overnight stays. It is also the world leader for the turnover generated by its two lift companies, SEVABEL and SETAM
Located in the 3 Valleys, the largest ski resort in the world (600 km of ski slopes connected to skis), Saint-Martin is the capital of the Belleville Valley (Saint-Martin, Les Menuires and Val Thorens). The other 2 valleys are those of Saint-Bon (Courchevel, Praz, Tania) and Les Allues (Méribel and Mottaret).
The 328 slopes of the 3 Valleys are between 1,300m and 3,230m high above sea level. 85% of the ski area is located above 1.800m. There are 25 peaks accessible by ski lifts, 10 to more than 2,500m. The high altitude of the ski area and the 2,100 snow cannons guarantee snow cover throughout the winter.
In this exceptional area, with an almost perfect distribution of beginner slopes and other ones for more experienced skiers, Saint-Martin is the only authentic village, inhabited all year long, which gives the latter a family and friendly atmosphere.
